Dr. Krauthammer is on Fox News. He is an M.D. and he is paralyzed from the neck down. Be forewarned on what is happening. A friend went to hear Charles Krauthammer. He listened with 25 others in closed room. What he says here, is NOT 2nd-hand but 1st. You would do well to read and pass this along to EVERYBODY that loves his country. This is VERY serious for the direction of our country. The ramifications are staggering for us & our children.
Last Monday was a profound evening, hearing Dr. Charles Krauthammer speak to the Center for the American Experiment. He is brilliant intellectual, seasoned & articulate. He is forthright and careful in his analysis, and never resorts to emotions or personal insults. He is NOT a fear monger nor an extremist in his comments and views. He is a fiscal conservative, and has a Pulitzer Prize for writing. He is a frequent contributor to Fox News and writes weekly for the Washington Post. The entire room was held spellbound during his talk.. I have shared this with many of you and several have asked me to summarize his comments, as we are living in uncharted waters economically and internationally. Even 2 Dems at my table agreed with everything he said! If you feel like forwarding this to those who are open minded and have not drunk the Kool-Aid, feel free. Summary of his comments:

1. Mr. Obama is a very intellectual, charming individual. He is not to be underestimated. He is a cool customer who doesn't show his emotions. It's very hard to know what's behind the mask. Taking down the Clinton dynasty from a political neophyte was an amazing accomplishment. The Clintons still do not understand what hit them. Obama was in the perfect place at the perfect time.

2. Obama has political skills comparable to Reagan and Clinton. He has a way of making you think he's on your side, agreeing with your position, while doing the opposite. Pay no attention to what he SAYS; rather, watch what he DOES!

3. Obama has a ruthless quest for power. He did not come to Washington to make something out of himself, but rather to change everything, including dismantling capitalism. He can't be straightforward on his ambitions, as the public would not go along. He has a heavy hand, and wants to level the playing field with income redistribution and punishment to the achievers of society. He would like to model the USA to Great Britain or Canada .

4. His three main goals are to control ENERGY, PUBLIC EDUCATION, & NATIONAL HEALTHCARE by the Federal government. He doesn't care about the auto or financial services industries, but got them as an early bonus. The cap and trade will add costs to everything and stifle growth. Paying for FREE college education is his goal. Most scary is his healthcare program, because if you make it FREE and add 46,000,000 people to a Medicare-type single-payer system, the costs will go through the roof. The only way to control costs is with massive RATIONING of services, like in Canada . God forbid.

5. He has surrounded himself with mostly far-left academic types. No one around him has ever even run a candy store. But they are going to try and run the auto, financial, banking and other industries. This obviously can't work in the long run. Obama is not a socialist; rather he's a far-left secular progressive bent on nothing short of revolution. He ran as a moderate, but will govern from the hard left. Again, watch what he does, not what he says.

6. Obama doesn't really see himself as President of the United States, but more as a ruler over the world. He sees himself above it all, trying to orchestrate & coordinate various countries and their agendas. He sees moral equivalency in all cultures. His apology tour in Germany and England was a prime example of how he sees America, as an imperialist nation that has been arrogant, rather than a great noble nation that has at times made errors. This is the first President ever who has chastised our allies and appeased our enemies!

7. He is now handing out goodies. He hopes that the bill (and pain) will not come due until after he is reelected in 2012. He would like to blame all problems on Bush from the past, and hopefully his successor in the future. He has a huge ego, and Mr. Krauthammer believes he is a narcissist.

8. Republicans are in the wilderness for a while, but will emerge strong. Were pining for another Reagan, but there will never be another like him. Krauthammer believes Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty & Bobby Jindahl (except for his terrible speech in February) are the future of the party. Newt Gingrich is brilliant, but has baggage. Sarah Palin is sincere and intelligent, but needs to really be seriously boning up on facts and info if she is to be a serious candidate in the future. We need to return to the party of lower taxes, smaller government, personal responsibility, strong national defense, and state's rights.

9. The current level of spending is irresponsible and outrageous. We are spending trillions that we don't have. This could lead to hyperinflation, depression, or worse.. No country has ever spent themselves into prosperity. The media is giving Obama, Reid and Pelosi a pass because they love their agenda. But eventually the bill will come due and people will realize the huge bailouts didn't work, nor will the stimulus package. These were trillion-dollar payoffs to Obama's allies, unions and the Congress to placate the left, so he can get support for #4 above.

10. The election was over in mid-September when Lehman brothers failed, fear and panic swept in, we had an unpopular President, and the war was grinding on indefinitely without a clear outcome. The people are in pain, and the mantra of change caused people to act emotionally. Any Dem would have won this election; it was surprising it was as close as it was.

11. In 2012, if the unemployment rate is over 10%, Republicans will be swept back into power. If it's under 8%, the Dems continue to roll. If it's between 8-10%, it will be a dogfight. It will all be about the economy. I hope this gets you really thinking about what's happening in Washington and Congress. There is a left-wing revolution going on, according to Krauthammer, and he encourages us to keep the faith and join the loyal resistance. The work will be hard, but were right on most issues and can reclaim our country, before it's far too late.

Do yourself a long term favor; send this to all who will listen to an intelligent assessment of the big picture. All our futures and children's futures depend on our good understanding of what is really going on in DC! And our action pursuant to that understanding! It really IS up to each of us to take individual action! Start with educating your friends and neighbors!

"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi berated town hall and tea party protesters this month, tearfully warning they'd incite violence. Well, there's been violence all right, at Pittsburgh's G-20. But it wasn't the tea partiers. It takes gall to characterize ordinary Americans, freely exercising their rights of speech and assembly in civic forums, as 'mobs' while ignoring a pack of leftist thugs now smashing a U.S. city. But that's what Pelosi did, directing her righteous tocsin to the Norman Rockwell-like gatherings of Americans who opposed her expansion of government this past summer. 'I have concerns about some of the language that is being used because I saw ... I saw this myself in the late '70s in San Francisco,' Pelosi said, choking up, her eyes brimming with tears. 'This kind of rhetoric is just, is really frightening and it created a climate in which we, violence took place and ... I wish that we would all, again, curb our enthusiasm in some of the statements that are made,' she told a congressional forum Sept. 17 in a bid to silence peaceful protesters. Scroll ahead one week to the G-20 summit in Pittsburgh: Some 1,000 hooded rioters descend on the city waving signs such as 'Smash the G-20' and 'Eat the Rich.' Many take 'direct action' to 'challenge capitalism' in what organizers brazenly call an 'unpermitted protest.' Unlike the town hall citizens, they didn't 'hurl' statements -- just tire irons, bricks and rocks, in an effort to damage private businesses. ... This kind of violence is nothing new. It was found in Seattle in 1999, where former Obama administration green czar Van Jones got himself arrested. It was repeated at other summits in Turin, Italy; Washington, D.C.; and London. These leftists detest capitalism, abhor private property -- and have ties to the Democratic Party. The unwillingness of the Democratic establishment to defend free markets emboldens the rioters. In destroying private property and impeding trade, these anarchists prove their aims aren't democratic. They resemble the mobs of Castro's Cuba who engage in violence against citizens to enforce conformity. The outrage of it all raises questions about Pelosi's real agenda in her one-sided criticism of tea partiers. By criticizing only tea partiers and ignoring rampant thugs, she seeks to repress peaceful dissent. Thoughts on Redistricting

There is significant interest in the preparation and actual crafting of Indiana's congressional and state legislative districts that, by law, must be redrawn and approved by the end of the 2011 session.

Some have suggested an independent commission should be created to handle this task. While this is a concept that should be thoroughly explored, and may in fact be the best way to manage redistricting for future generations of Hoosiers, the fact remains that the Indiana Constitution requires the state legislature to handle this task.

Clearly, our Indiana Constitution would have to be amended to allow a commission to take over, and under the best case scenario, an amendment could not legally come before the voters for their consideration before the 2012 election. That is too late to affect the upcoming redistricting that, again, must be approved by April of 2011.

It is important, therefore, to begin to communicate with the public about what the rules and goals of the redistricting process should be. Below are my thoughts, as the President Pro Tem of the Indiana Senate, as to how that process should be approached.

1. The protection of the representation and interests of the people of the state of Indiana is of paramount importance in the redistricting of Indiana's congressional and state legislative districts. As such, no district should be drawn with the goal of improperly favoring any person or political party.

2. The principal of equal population figures for each House and Senate seat should be followed as closely as practicable. Deviations from this definitive rule should be avoided wherever possible. Under the last redistricting in 2001, the population deviations for Indiana House seats were less than 2 percent and for the Indiana Senate, less than 4 percent. A crucial goal of the 2011 redistricting plan should be to reduce these numbers even further. It should be noted that congressional seats are provided even less latitude in population deviation due to past rulings of the U.S. Supreme Court.

3. Criteria other than overall population of the district that should be utilized must include, but not be limited to, the following :
a. Preserving traditional neighborhoods;
b. Preserving local communities of interest based upon cultural, ethnic, geographic, and socio-economic similarities;
c. Protecting minority voting rights consistent with the U.S. Constitution and the Indiana Constitution, as interpreted by the U.S. and Indiana Supreme Courts;
d. Keeping districts compact, particularly where population density is greatest, to avoid dividing communities of interest;
e. Avoiding oddly shaped districts; however, rational and logical deviations may occur where an effort is made to follow a political subdivision's boundaries or to follow natural geographic boundaries;
f. Taking county lines into consideration, but those boundary lines should not be sacrosanct. Crossing county lines can make sense to preserve economic, social and geographic populations and to achieve the requisite population balance for the district. However, the number of counties utilized to comprise a district should be kept to a minimum, and the counties within such district should be as contiguous as possible; and
g. Maintaining, whenever practicable, voting precincts within a single legislative district to prevent division of communities of interest, to prevent voter confusion, and to minimize administrative costs of elections.

Senate leadership will work closely with its counterparts in the House to ensure that the above criteria are utilized in the redistricting of the congressional and state legislative seats in 2011. Our goal will be to have the most open, transparent redistricting process ever conducted in this State. The technological advances of today should allow for unprecedented public input into the redistricting effort, including statewide hearings and opportunities for citizens and various organizations to submit their own suggestions and maps to the legislature for consideration.

While the final district maps cannot be crafted and approved until the 2010 census data is provided to Indiana by the Federal government (likely available by early March, 2011), the preliminary effort is already beginning. I look forward to working with all interested parties over the next 20 months as we strive to create the fairest and most representative congressional and state legislative districts possible.

It Is Going To Be A Rocky Road

Let's face it: most Americans live in a world of false security.
This is somewhat understandable, given the fact that the majority of the U.S.
population was born after 1945. Few remember the dangers and hardships of
World War II; fewer still remember the Great Depression. Few Americans know
what it's like to not have some sort of "supercenter" nearby with shelves
stocked with every kind of food imaginable, twenty-four hours a day. Few
know what life was like before there were restaurants of all sizes and types
on virtually every street corner in America. And only a handful remembers
when most roads were unpaved, or when sports were truly a pastime and not a
megabuck obsession.

Modern living within the world's only "superpower" has created a giant
unsuspecting, soft, lackadaisical, and lethargic society. We expect the
government to keep our streets safe, our roads paved, our stores stocked,
our jobs secure, and our enemies at bay. However, in the desire to make
government the panacea for all our problems, we have sold not only our
independence, but also our virtue.

Where the federal government was contracted (via the U.S. Constitution) to
accept limited power for the overall good of both states and people, it has
become a monster of gargantuan proportions, claiming authority over
virtually every liberty and right known to man. And in the process, it
decided it didn't need God, either.

It is no hyperbole to say that the U.S. federal government has been on a
"Ban God" bandwagon for the past 50 years. Whether it kicks prayer and Bible
reading out of school, bars military chaplains from praying in Jesus' name,
burns Bibles in Iraq, removes state supreme court chief justices from their
positions for posting the Ten Commandments, or threatens high school
principals with jail for asking the blessing, the federal government has
invoked the judgment of Heaven upon our country as surely as did Old
Testament Israel.

Although the comfortable, sports-crazed, TV addicts probably aren't paying
attention, this country is on the verge of an implosion like you cannot
believe. For anyone who cares to notice, the signs are everywhere.

First of all, Israel and Iran are on the verge of war. And right now, I'm
not concentrating on the "why" or "who's right or wrong" of the equation.
I'm simply telling you, war between Israel and Iran could break out at any
time. And when it does, the chances that it will not become nuclear and not
become global are miniscule. Yes, I am saying it: the prospects for nuclear
war have never been greater. The CBS-canceled TV show, JERICHO, could become
a reality in these United States in the very near future. (I strongly urge
readers to purchase both seasons of JERICHO and watch them, because this
could be our future.)

Secondly, America is on the verge of total financial collapse. By the end of
this year, America's budget deficit will stand at around $2 trillion. The
debt gap is many trillions more than that. But the nail in the coffin for
America's fiscal health will be the decision by China to dump the U.S.
dollar. Ladies and gentlemen, this will be the death knell for our financial
stability (and a painful lesson in sowing and reaping).

It is estimated that China owns around one-third of all U.S. debt. If and
when China dumps the U.S. dollar, there would be nothing left to stabilize
it, and Weimar Republic/Zimbabwe-style inflation will ensue. America will be
thrust into financial chaos. (If one doubts that China is planning to dump
the dollar, consider that China is currently purchasing and stockpiling gold
at an unprecedented level. This is why gold has suddenly surged to over
$1,000 per ounce and why it will continue to rise.)

Third, the paranoia regarding the Swine Flu being demonstrated by both
government and media spokesmen begs a giant push for some type of
"government solution." If they keep hyping this "pandemic," mass hysteria
and fear (created by the government and its lackeys in the media) will
result. This would, no doubt, necessitate some form of forced vaccination,
quarantine (maybe this is what all those internment camps will be used for),
and martial law.

Exactly how and when all of the above will actually materialize is yet to be
seen. There is no doubt in my mind, however, that within the next few
months, the world that we know today is going to vanish. And most Americans
are totally unprepared for what's coming.

If you are able to get out of debt, do it. If you need to scale down your
lifestyle in order to be better prepared for difficult days, do it. If you
don't have guns and ammo, buy them. If you have not prepared some sort of
preserved food pantry, do it. If you don't have some kind of survival plan
in place for you and your family, get one. If you are not physically fit,
get in shape. If you are able to move to a more secure, out-of-harm's-way
location, do it. (During any kind of financial or societal meltdown, urban
areas will quickly turn into war zones. Can anyone say, "New Orleans after
Hurricane Katrina"?) In other words, get your nose out of the boob tube, get
your bottom off the easy chair, and get busy.

Am I worried or discouraged? Absolutely not! (But I am preparing.) The
potential good that may result from all of the above is that perhaps God
will protect and raise up a remnant of people who would be willing to
rebuild a place where Natural Law is respected, constitutional government is
revered, and where a ubiquitous, loathsome, overbearing federal government
is far, far away. You know, like America's Founding Fathers did 233 years
ago.

Company Backed by Gore Gets Taxpayer Millions

A start-up automotive company backed by former Vice President Al Gore has been loaned more than half a billion dollars by the federal government.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Fisker Automotive Inc. has received $529 million in taxpayer money. The loan was intended to help Fikser produce a hybrid sports car to be sold in Finland.

"This is not for average Americans," Leslie Paige, a spokeswoman for Citizens Against Government Waste, told the Journal. "This is for people to put something in their driveway that is a conversation piece. It's a status symbol thing."

White House Mum on Gadhafi Grants

The White House declined to comment on a letter that an Illinois Republican send to President Obama demanding that he cancel funding for two $200,000 State Department grants to groups belonging to Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi's children.

Rep. Mark Kirk wrote the letter after the State Department notified the House Appropriations Committee on Sept. 15 of its intent to provide the foundation belonging to the Libyan dictator’s son, Saif, with a $200,000 and an additional $200,000 to Wa’ettasmeno UNDP Foundation run by his daughter, Aisha.

“Last month, when Scotland freed Abel Baset al-Megrahi, the only man convicted in the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103, Gadhafi greeted him with a hero’s welcome,” Kirk wrote in his Sept. 23 letter to President Obama. “As you know, Megrahi was accompanied back to Libya by Gadhafi's son, Saif, who was involved with negotiations for Megrahi’s release. Just weeks after the Gadhafi family celebrated the return of a terrorist for the murders of 189 Americans, the U.S. taxpayer should not be asked to reward them with $400,000. For the sake of the victims’ families who have endured so much pain these last few weeks, I ask you to withdraw your Administration’s request.”

The State Department told Newsmax the grants were part of a larger $2.5 million economic support program intended to promote democracy and women’s economic opportunities in Libya, which Congress appropriated for fiscal year 2009.

“We are currently reviewing all of the funds, and nothing from the proposed program has been released yet,” said State Department spokeswoman Joanne Moore.

Kirk said he was particularly incensed by the fact Saif Gadhafi was the primary organizer for last month’s welcome ceremony for Megrahi in Libya.

“It directly flies in the face of Obama administration comments condemning the release of Megrahi, and it is a wildly inappropriate use of United States taxpayer funding,” Kirk said.

Although the funding doesn’t violate U.S. law regarding the Bush administration’s decision to remove Libya from the list of state sponsors of terrorism, Kirk said Megrahi’s welcome home ceremony raised ethical questions.

“The welcome home ceremony of the murderer of 189 Americans is incomprehensible to explain in any community in America,” he said.

The Appropriations Committee has employed a parliamentary procedure to block the obligation to fund these two Gadhafi family-led foundations, said Kirk, who promised to introduce an amendment to delete the funding the next time the committee meets if the president doesn't do so.

“I’d like to . . . see the staffer who proposed this, and then secondly, I hope that the leadership of the State Department, including Secretary of State (Hillary) Clinton, immediately see the mistake that has happened here and withdraw funding,” Kirk said.

The congressman also took issue with the money the State Department plans to give Libya because of the large number of “national security nightmares” in Africa the Gadhafi government is involved with despite its efforts to make peace with the West.

These include the regimes destabilizing activities in Chad and involvement with “nefarious elements” in East Africa.

According to Middle East Forum Director Dr. Daniel Pipes, who has followed the actions of the Gadhafi regime for several decades, says the Libyan dictator has curtailed his efforts to extend his influence to within Africa. His scope of operations has changed from the days when President Ronald Reagan called him “the mad dog of the Middle East,” and his government actively sponsored acts of terrorism such as the Pan Am 103 bombing or backed groups such as the Irish Republican Army and other Palestinian factions.

“U.S.-Libyan relations were downright venomous from until 1969 until Gadhafi's renunciation of nuclear weapons and the decision to pay up to the families of the Lockerbie bombing,” Pipes said. “The question is how much Moammar Gadhafi has changed, but the fact is he still is a thug.

“Respectability is important to him, but he wants respectability on his terms, and the last thing we want to do is fund Libyan government or quasi-government entities. So I commend Congressman Kirk on his actions.”

Despite Gadhafi's efforts to win legitimacy in the West, Libya remains a repressive dictatorship where democracy as the West understands it is nonexistent.

The State Department’s decision to fund the two Gadhafi-related groups also has sparked outrage from at least one of the Lockerbie bombing families.

“This is disgraceful. I think we will have an all-out campaign to get the president to put a stop to this funding,” Kathleen R. Flynn, whose 21-year-old son, JP, was murdered in the PanAm 103 bombing, told Newsmax. “I will put in a call to Hillary Clinton’s office about this.

“It is unconscionable that they would entertain such a thing.”

Flynn said she plans to contact the president of the organization of the Lockerbie bombing families' organization to press for a “full campaign” on behalf of all the families to get the funding killed.

“I am horrified, and we will work hard on it.”

Although she was critical of the Obama administration’s actions, she praised Kirk for his actions.

"President Obama didn't make much news on his round of five Sunday talk shows ... with one notable exception. The President revealed a great deal about his philosophy of government and how he defines a tax increase. It turns out the President thinks a health-care tax is not a tax if he thinks the tax is for your own good. ... Mr. Obama was asked by [ABC] host George Stephanopoulos about the 'individual mandate.' Under Max Baucus's Senate bill that Mr. Obama supports, everyone would be required to buy health insurance or else pay a penalty as high as $3,800 a year. Mr. Stephanopoulos posed the obvious question about this kind of coercion when 'the government is forcing people to spend money, fining you if you don't [buy insurance]. ... How is that not a tax?' 'Well, hold on a second, George,' Mr. Obama replied. 'Here's what's happening. You and I are both paying $900, on average -- our families -- in higher premiums because of uncompensated care. Now what I've said is that if you can't afford health insurance, you certainly shouldn't be punished for that. That's just piling on. If, on the other hand, we're giving tax credits, we've set up an exchange, you are now part of a big pool, we've driven down the costs, we've done everything we can and you actually can afford health insurance, but you've just decided, you know what, I want to take my chances. And then you get hit by a bus and you and I have to pay for the emergency room care, that's...' 'That may be,' Mr. Stephanopoulos responded, 'but it's still a tax increase.' (In fact, uncompensated care accounts for about only 2.2% of national health spending today, but that's another subject.) Mr. Obama: 'No. That's not true, George. The -- for us to say that you've got to take a responsibility to get health insurance is absolutely not a tax increase. What it's saying is, is that we're not going to have other people carrying your burdens for you anymore...' In other words, like parents talking to their children, this levy -- don't call it a tax -- is for your own good. ... Mr. Obama complains that 'My critics say everything is a tax increase,' as if that is his political problem. His real problem is that the individual mandate really is a tax, but the President doesn't want voters to think of it that way, because taxes are unpopular." --The Wall Street Journal

Why Washington Must Restrain Spending

America is on an unsustainable fiscal path that threatens our future. Changing course is imperative, and Democrats should lead the way.

Last month the Office of Management and Budget predicted that the national debt will increase by $9 trillion over the next decade—$2 trillion more than forecast just four months earlier. Government net interest payments exceed $1 trillion in 2019, up from $382 billion this year. Because projected deficits exceed projected economic growth, the gap will be self-perpetuating.

The consequences of all this will not be benign. A world saturated with U.S. currency will eventually look elsewhere to invest, causing the dollar's value to drop; foreign creditors, their confidence shaken by our fiscal profligacy, will demand higher payments to keep holding our debt. The net effect will be "stagflation," that pernicious combination of slower growth, higher inflation and interest rates, and lower living standards Americans suffered through in the 1970s.

These events will diminish our global influence, because fiscal strength is essential to diplomatic leverage, military might and national significance. No great nation can rely upon the generosity of strangers or the forbearance of potential adversaries to meet its security needs. America is doing both. China uses its monetary reserves to curry favor in developing countries once in the U.S. sphere of influence; we must borrow to pay for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Worst of all is the legacy we will leave. From the "Greatest Generation" we inherited an America that is the strongest, most affluent, freest nation on earth. On our present course, our children will not. We violate a fundamental part of our national character by taking from our children to satisfy our desires today.

Congress's initial reaction to our fiscal peril has not been encouraging. The $410 billion omnibus spending bill passed in March increased domestic discretionary spending by 8% and included more than 8,000 earmarks. This year's budget contemplates domestic discretionary increases of nearly 9%, three times the rate of inflation. If the past is any guide, it will include thousands of new earmarks.

Any serious effort to control the deficit must begin with spending restraint. Efficiency and frugality, common virtues in the private sector, must be incorporated into government. Congress should enact health-care reform that actually lowers the deficit. For the next fiscal year, assuming the economy has gathered sufficient momentum, we should freeze domestic discretionary spending, limit increases in defense spending to the rate of inflation, forgo pay raises for federal workers, and institute a federal hiring freeze. These steps alone won't put our fiscal house in order; more difficult action is needed. But by showing common cause with middle-class families facing their own budget crises, we can send an important signal that Washington has the will to chart a more responsible course.

In many ways, it is unfair to blame President Barack Obama for the magnitude of federal government's fiscal problem and the urgency of dealing with it. He didn't create this mess. According to a New York Times estimate, 90% of the deficit growth over Mr. Obama's first term in office is attributable to policies and conditions he inherited. Regardless, if we wait for the markets to force corrective action, the danger to our economy will be greater and the correction more painful.

Spending restraint will not come easily to the Democratic Party. Pent-up demand for investment in education, health care and the environment is understandable after the Bush years. But long-term progressive government can't be built on a foundation of debt and deficits. We cannot indefinitely share with the less-fortunate resources we do not possess. Ultimately, a growing economy with increased revenues and a stable national balance sheet are the best guarantors of social progress.

Fortunately, fiscal probity is not entirely alien to Democrats' DNA. Andrew Jackson eliminated the national debt during his presidency. Harry Truman restored balance to the federal budget following World War II. John F. Kennedy cut taxes to stimulate growth. Bill Clinton left the nation's finances so secure that some worried about the size of prospective surpluses.

As Indiana's governor, I cut spending during difficult times, balanced the budget, and didn't raise taxes. When times improved and revenue increased, we used the surplus to invest in progressive priorities that made our state more humane.

This approach found favor with people across the ideological spectrum. Conservatives were happy that budgets were balanced and taxes kept modest. Progressives ultimately saw the fruits of our discipline in higher funding for the things we cherish.

The choice is clear. We can take the path of least resistance and ignore the impending day of reckoning. Or we can do what is necessary to right the fiscal ship of state and lay a foundation for prudent, progressive government for a generation.

I believe Barack Obama will choose the responsible course. If he does, he will find kindred spirits in our party prepared to help.

Calling Muslims to the Capitol?

As nations such as Canada, Great Britain, the Netherlands (and many others in Europe) have become more secular, they have demonstrated a willingness to embrace virtually anything – anything except their traditional Christian foundations. In fact, they now regularly repudiate those foundations, promoting abortion, legalizing homosexual marriage, and changing their traditional legal codes. And accepting the falsehood that all beliefs are equal and that truth is relative, they have even been willing to incorporate Islamic Sharia law into their legal codes in order to protect the special practices of some Muslims living among them. This has energized many Muslims in those countries and they are displaying a new boldness that is vocal, visible, and demonstrably assertive.

Each year, nearly 5,000 Muslim "honor killings" occur across the world (a practice whereby parents kill children who allegedly bring "dishonor" on Islam by dating non-Muslims, wearing western garb, converting to another religion, etc.). Dozens of those murders are committed in Europe, but in many of these formerly Christian nations, those who commit the "honor killings" (i.e., the murder of their own children) often go unpunished since the death of their child was "required" by Islamic law (now included in the legal law of the land). Additionally, many public personalities across Europe who criticized Islam have been murdered, causing Parliaments in the Netherlands and other European countries to forbid criticism of Islam in an effort to prevent further murders. These nations, having given up precious ground, are now having difficulty retaking it.

Historically, on this continent Christian America adopted an open free-market approach to all religions from the beginning. American Christians then (and now) were not fearful of other religions. They were confident that Christianity would prevail on its own merits and they therefore followed the Biblical precedent set forth in both the Old and New Testaments of simply presenting God's word in a straightforward manner, expecting that the Holy Spirit will confirm His word in the hearts of hearers. Christians believe that on a level playing field, Christianity will always prevail through the voluntary choice of the people.

As a result, Christian America welcomed all religions, with Muslims arriving here by 1619, Jews establishing their first synagogue in 1654, and Buddhists, Hindus, and others also being present from the early days. Significantly, only America extended (and continues to extend) a free-market religious tolerance to others while still preserving the core societal values of our Christian heritage. But the culture has begun to shift. The level playing field is being eroded. As in Europe, Christianity is being knocked down and Islam elevated.

For example, a federal court of appeals ruled that public schools in nine western states can require a three week indoctrination to the Islamic faith in which all junior high students must pretend they are Muslims and offer prayers to Allah (students are further encouraged to take Islamic names, call each other by those names, wear Islamic garb, participate in Jihad games, and read the Koran during those three weeks). Yet that very court also ruled that it was unconstitutional for those same students to voluntarily mention "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance. Likewise, a federal court on the east coast ruled that public schools may display Islamic holiday symbols but not Christian ones. And the University of Michigan recently spent $25,000 of taxpayer money to install foot-washing facilities to accommodate the religious practices of Muslim students but made no similar expenditure on behalf of students from any other religion.

As a result of such actions, many Muslims are exercising a new boldness in America. In fact, Muslim "honor killings" have now arrived in the United States (most recently in Texas); and just a few weeks ago, direct action was taken to prevent the honor-killing of a 17-year old Muslim girl in Ohio who converted to Christianity and, in fear of her life, fled from her parents to Florida.

American Muslims have also enjoyed the direct support of President Obama. In April, he traveled to Egypt where he told the Muslim world that America no longer considers itself a Christian nation. He later traveled to Turkey and announced that America was one of the largest Muslim nations in the world (despite the fact that 78% of Americans claim to be Christians but only 1% claim to be Muslims). Then in May, President Obama refused to invite Christian and Jewish leaders to the White House to participate in the National Day of Prayer (as former presidents have done), but in September, he did invite Muslim leaders to the White House for a special Muslim Ramadan celebration to commemorate Allah delivering the Koran to his prophet Mohammed.

Heartened by this new encouragement, Muslim leaders have called 50,000 observant Muslims to come to the Capitol this Friday, September 25, for a day of Jummah (Friday congregational prayer). The sponsors promise that from 4AM to 7PM, "the Athan [the call given five times each day for Muslims to participate in mandatory prayer] will be chanted on Capitol Hill, echoing off of the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument and other great edifices that surround Capitol Hill." The goal of this event is that "the peace, beauty and solidarity of Islam will shine through America's capitol." In fact, their website for this unprecedented event proudly and unabashedly declares, "Our Time Has Come!"

As Bible-believing people, let's also make this Friday a day of prayer – and please encourage others to participate with you. We know that our contest is with spiritual forces (Ephesians 6:12), and we firmly believe that He Who is within us is greater than any other god or force (1 John 4:4), so I encourage you to fill America with prayer to the True God this coming Friday.

Well, I have done it! I have read the entire text of proposed House Bill 3200: The Affordable Health Care Choices Act of 2009. I studied it with particular emphasis from my area of experience, constitutional law. I was frankly concerned that parts of the proposed law that were being discussed in the media might be unconstitutional. What I found was far worse than what I had heard or expected.

To begin with, much of what has been said about the law and its implications is in fact true, despite what the Democrats and the media are saying. The law does provide for rationing of health care, particularly where senior citizens and other classes of citizens are involved, free health care for illegal immigrants, free abortion services, and forced participation in abortions by members of the medical profession under threat of license loss is most likely.

The Bill will also eventually force private insurance companies out of business and put everyone into a government-run system. All decisions about personal health care will ultimately be made by federal bureaucrats and most of them will NOT be healthcare professionals. Hospital admissions, payments to physicians, and allocations of necessary medical devices will be strictly controlled to "save costs"

However, as alarming as all of this is, it just scratches the surface. In fact, I have concluded that this legislation really has no intention of providing affordable healthcare choices. Instead, it is a most deceitful excuse and a convenient cover for the most massive transfer of power to the Executive Branch of government that has ever occurred, or even been contemplated by most politicians.
If this law or a similar one is adopted, major portions of the Constitution of the United States will have effectively been destroyed!!!

The first thing to go will be the masterfully crafted balance of power between the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of the U.S. Government. The Congress will be transferring to the Obama Administration complete authority, in a number of different areas, over the lives of the American people and the businesses they own. The irony is that the Congress doesn't really have any Constitutional authority to legislate in most of those areas to begin with.

I defy anyone to read the text of the U.S. Constitution and find any authority granted to the members of Congress to regulate personal healthcare. The debate about expanding free healthcare and "cost savings" is a clever smoke screen to distract Americans from the seriously important issue:
Illegal transfer of power.

This legislation also provides for access by the appointees (czars) of the Obama administration of all of your personal healthcare information, your personal financial information, and the information of your employer, physician, and hospital. All of this is a direct violation of the specific provisions of the 4th Amendment to the Constitution protecting against unreasonable searches and seizures. You can also forget about the right to privacy.
That will have been legislated into oblivion, regardless of what the 3rd and 4th Amendments may provide.

If you decide not to have healthcare insurance or if you have private insurance that is not deemed acceptable to the "Health Choices Administrator Czar" appointed by Obama, there will be a heavy tax imposed on you. It is called a "tax" instead of a fine because of the intent to avoid application of the "due process" clause of the 5th Amendment. Further, there is nothing in the law that permits an appeal of the tax. It is definitely depriving citizens of their property without the "due process" of law. The loss of these fundamental rights now belonging to American citizens results in oppressive dictatorships.

So, there are three of those pesky Constitutional Amendments that the "far left Liberals" hate so much out of the original ten Bill of Rights, which will be effectively nullified by this law. It doesn't stop there, though. The 9th Amendment that provides: ´The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people". The 10th Amendment states: ´The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are preserved to the States respectively, or to the people".

Under the provisions of this unconstitutional piece of Congressional handiwork neither the people, nor the States, are going to retain any rights or powers at all, in many areas that once were theirs to control. Individuals will retain very few Constitutional Rights, which the Founding Fathers declared to be God-given. The Federal Government is now claiming ALL rights and will distribute them any way politicians and bureaucrats choose.
The people will have no meaningful "choice" in anything.

Congress and Obama are fundamentally reversing the principle that the people are only loaning some powers to the national government
such as providing for the national defense and negotiating treaties with foreign governments. The powers of self-determination and representative government are being taken from the people and "redistributed" in the form of socialism, fascism, communism, and the rest of the "isms" that avoid all meaningful accountability of political leaders to their people. Of course, they will call it being "progressive" or anything except what it really is.

I could write many more pages about this legislation, but I think you get the idea. This is NOT about health care; it is about seizing absolute power and limiting citizen rights. Article 6 of the Constitution requires the members of both houses of Congress to "be bound by oath or affirmation¡ to support the Constitution". Few of our politicians appear to value any moral obligations, commitments, or oaths. They only kneel at the "alter of reelection" and will promise or do anything to remain in power. They are motivated by narrow special interests that provide most of their campaign financing.

If I were a member of Congress, I would not be able to vote in good conscience for this healthcare legislation, or anything like it, without realizing that I was violating that sacred oath or affirmation. If I voted for it anyway, I would hope the American people would hold me accountable in the next general election, for violating my oath to support the United States Constitution....................... free of all deceit or reservation.

For those who might doubt the serious nature of this threat to America, I suggest that they consult the following sources and study for yourself.

Cap-and-Trade's Cost to Americans: $1,761 per Household

The Obama administration has concluded privately that a cap-and-trade law would cost every American household $1,761 a year — or a national total of nearly $200 billion a year, the equivalent of hiking personal income taxes by about 15 percent.

The previously unreleased Treasury Department analysis, which CBS News reported this week, says the new law would require new taxes between $100 billion to $200 billion a year. That’s how Treasury analysts arrived at the $1,761 per household figure.

"Given the administration's proposal to auction all emission allowances, a cap-and-trade program could generate federal receipts on the order of $100 to $200 billion annually," according to the document, which was written by Judson Jaffe, who joined the Treasury Department's Office of Environment and Energy in January.

Because personal income tax revenues bring in around $1.37 trillion a year, a $200 billion additional tax would be the equivalent of a 15 percent increase a year. A $100 billion additional tax would represent a 7 percent or 8 percent increase a year.

That finding has been echoed by other internal Obama administration documents on the subject.
"Economic costs will likely be on the order of 1 percent of GDP, making them equal in scale to all existing environmental regulation," according to a second memorandum that was prepared for Obama's transition team after the November election.

CBS reported these figures based on documents that the free-market Competitive Enterprise Institute obtained under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and released on Tuesday.
Other figures developed in studies for a new cap-and-trade law have been even more prohibitive.

House Republican Leader John Boehner has estimated that the additional tax bill would be at least $366 billion a year, or $3,100 a year per family. The Heritage Foundation says that, by 2035, "the typical family of four will see its direct energy costs rise by over $1,500 per year."
Christopher Horner, a senior fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute who filed the FOIA request, told CBS, "Heritage is saying publicly what the administration is saying to itself privately. It's nice to see they're not spinning each other behind closed doors."

Democrats pushing such legislation, meanwhile, have relied on estimates from MIT's John Reilly, who put the cost at $800 a year per family. They insist that tax credits to low-income households could offset part of the bite.

And responding to release of the document, The Environmental Defense Fund issued a statement insisting that the figures ignore the cost savings to consumers from cap-and-trade legislation.

“Even if a 100 percent auction was a live legislative proposal, which it's not, that math ignores the redistribution of revenue back to consumers,” the environmental fund’s statement said. “It only looks at one side of the balance sheet. It would only be true if you think the Administration was going to pile all the cash on the White House lawn and set it on fire.”

The Democrats are “not telling you the cost — they're not telling you the benefit," says Horner, who wrote the Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming. "If they don't tell you the cost, and they don't tell you the benefit, what are they telling you? They're just talking about global salvation."

Where were you on 9-11? The day our world changed forever.

I was setting in my office when my daughter called and asked if I had heard one of the towers had been hit by a plane. I ran in and turned on the television and was in total shock. Then I saw the second plane hit the other tower. At that time I knew our country was under attach, but could not believe this was happening in our country on our land that we love so much. How could this be happening to us, it only happens in other countries.

We can NEVER forget those that lost their lives that day. We can NEVER forget those who risk their lives everyday to keep us safe, from our local police and firefighters to our military men and women that are fighting to keep America FREE. Please pray for all of the victims and families of 9-11.

9-11 Remembrance

Friday, 9-11 -3:30 - 6:00 p.m. - there will be a Memorial Gathering at Newtown Park in Lawrenceburg (US 50 and Main Street) in remembrance of 9-11. Please bring appropriate signs to remember our victims and their families. If you can we would like for you to wear a black arm band. Starting shortly after 6:00 we will hold a memorial service with a candle light vigil.

An Urgent Message From the League of American Voters

We at the League of American Voters have been warning Americans not to become complacent about the Obama health care plan.

It is not dead.

We have NOT won this battle.

Soon after Labor Day, Congress returns from summer recess.
Obama is going to push for a quick vote on his plan.

Despite the fact this summer we witnessed mass protests against the Obama plan, there has been no suggestion from the Obama White House that they will compromise with Republicans.

You see, with big majorities in the Senate and the House, Obama could easily pass a compromise health care bill, one that does not offer the "public option" or adds 50 million new patients to government health care, without the Kennedy seat vote.

But he does need that Massachusetts vote if he wants to overrule all Senate Republicans and get a 60 vote majority -- one that allows him to overcome a filibuster.

So far, Obama's modus operandi has been to go for the political jugular and avoid any compromise.

He will do it again.

There is no question Obama has staked out an extreme position. He wants to take over one-sixth of the U.S. economy.

He knows the so-called "public option" will eventually put private insurers out of business and lead to complete control of government health care.

I am simply amazed how time and again Obama simply lies about his intentions.

He has told the national press his plan does not include an estimated 12 million illegal aliens.

But both the Senate and House bills outlining the Obama plan specifically do not exclude illegals from getting free government care.

And when House Republicans pushed the Heller Amendment to block illegals from getting free health care, Pelosi and her minions voted it down.

Again, Obama lied when asked if his plan would fund abortions.

He said it would not.

But when Republicans pushed for an amendment to block taxpayer funds from being used for abortions, Democrats voted it down.

There is a reason Obama must lie.

He knows that when Americans realize the full implications of his plan they will say "NO!"

We made incredible progress informing Americans this summer of the dangers of Obama Care.

Still, Obama has large majorities and he wants his radical plan rammed through Congress.

And too many Americans who oppose Obama Care are becoming complacent.
